If you loved The Fountainhead, try The Crowd
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by King Vidor, and they sit in Drama / Romance territory. If that's the register that drew you to The Fountainhead, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What The Crowd is
The idea here was to show an everyman struggling in the big city. John and Mary get married, start a family, and then struggle with the realities of city life in the early 20th century. It's a moving picture, if perhaps a bit obvious in its aims.
