If you loved Le Rebelle, try La Foule

Ce qu'ils partagent
Both films are directed by King Vidor, and they both carry the bittersweet, tender mood tags, and they sit in Drama / Romance territory. If that's the register that drew you to Le Rebelle, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What La Foule is
The idea here was to show an everyman struggling in the big city. John and Mary get married, start a family, and then struggle with the realities of city life in the early 20th century. It's a moving picture, if perhaps a bit obvious in its aims.
