If you loved Dersou Ouzala, try Barberousse
Un pont entre un film que tu as déjà vu et un que peu de gens ont croisé. Voici ce qu'ils partagent, et ce que le second fait que le premier ne fait pas.
Ce qu'ils partagent
Both films are directed by Akira Kurosawa, and they both carry the bittersweet, foreign gem, slow burn, tender mood tags, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Dersou Ouzala, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Barberousse is
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Edo style. A proud young doctor is assigned to a charity clinic run by a samurai-like physician. The newcomer resists his mentor's methods until he witnesses the doctor's devotion to the poor. A late-career triumph for Kurosawa.
