If you loved Uzala, der Kirgise, try Rotbart
Eine Brücke zwischen einem Film, den du schon gesehen hast, und einem, den kaum jemand kennt. Das teilen sie, und was der zweite macht, was der erste nicht macht.
Was sie teilen
Both films are directed by Akira Kurosawa, and they both carry the bittersweet, foreign gem, slow burn, tender mood tags, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Uzala, der Kirgise, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Rotbart is
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Edo style. A proud young doctor is assigned to a charity clinic run by a samurai-like physician. The newcomer resists his mentor's methods until he witnesses the doctor's devotion to the poor. A late-career triumph for Kurosawa.
