If you loved Waru, try Audition
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Takashi Miike. If that's the register that drew you to Waru, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Audition is
Tokyo, rainy evening, a lonely piano melody. A widower and his film producer friend stage a fake audition, meeting a series of women, until the soft-spoken Asami stands out. Miike's restraint makes the unease more suffocating.
