If you loved Waiting Women, try All These Women
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Ingmar Bergman, and they sit in Comedy territory. If that's the register that drew you to Waiting Women, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What All These Women is
All these women are clearly auditioning for a Bergman marathon. Cornelius, a critic incapable of simple appreciation, lurks among the cellist’s houseguests to steal their stories before moving on to blackmail. The film’s real subject turns out to be the unrealiability of hindsight and self-importance.
