If you loved The Bird People in China, try Crows Zero II
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Takashi Miike, and they sit in Adventure / Comedy territory. If that's the register that drew you to The Bird People in China, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Crows Zero II is
Takashi Miike returns to high-school gang warfare, as one does. Genji's G.P.S. faces a challenge from Hosen Academy, also known as the Army of Killers, reigniting a dormant feud. It's a fairly standard sequel, all told.
