If you loved Shutter, try The Medium

A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.

What they share

Both films are directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun, and they sit in Horror / Mystery territory. If that's the register that drew you to Shutter, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What The Medium is

Rural Thailand, monsoon dusk, a single lit candle gutters on a family altar. A shaman’s household discovers their ancestral spirit may inhabit one of them, only to watch the candle snuff itself and the mirrors weep black oil. A folk-horror cousin to Jenkins’ The Babadook, minus the therapy jargon.
