If you loved Seven Weeks, try His Motorbike, Her Island
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi, and they both carry the bittersweet, foreign gem mood tags, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Seven Weeks, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What His Motorbike, Her Island is
Obayashi goes full throttle on young love, as only he can. Ko teaches Miyo to ride a motorbike, and then becomes weirdly jealous of her talent. It's a slightly saccharine romance that put a lot of bums on bikes.
