Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

1991 117 min PG Comedy · Drama

A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself.

Two minor players from a famous tragedy find themselves in a comedy of errors that isn’t theirs. They wander toward a castle with a vague royal request and a growing sense that their assigned roles make less sense than the script they’re not reading. The real joke is how easily their existential panic is overshadowed by someone else’s drama.

Directed by Tom Stoppard · Written by Tom Stoppard

Starring Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Richard Dreyfuss, Iain Glen, Ian Richardson, Donald Sumpter
