If you loved RocketMan, try Hatching Pete
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Stuart Gillard, and they sit in Comedy / Family territory. If that's the register that drew you to RocketMan, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Hatching Pete is
Pete remains the kind of kid who melts into hallway linoleum while his best friend Cleatis turns school spirit into a full-time performance art piece. With Cleatis suddenly banned from the costume that fuels his brand the district’s mascot gap suddenly becomes Pete’s improvised stepping stone up the social ladder. It’s a promotion he neither asked for nor deserves, delivered via feathers and a distinct lack of allergies.
