If you loved Malice, try Vision Quest
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Vision Quest has roughly 3.7× fewer votes than Malice — it's a deeper cut, not a mainstream recommendation. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Harold Becker. If that's the register that drew you to Malice, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Vision Quest is
Here's a film about a teen deciding to take himself very seriously. Louden declares he will face the state's fearsome wrestler, cutting weight to do so. A winsome young woman then arrives at his home, complicating his plans for self-betterment. It's quite the adolescent stew, really.
