If you loved Madea's Witness Protection, try The Single Moms Club
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Tyler Perry, and they sit in Comedy / Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Madea's Witness Protection, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What The Single Moms Club is
Tyler Perry's dramedy aspires to be a distaff version of The Breakfast Club. After their kids misbehave, a diverse group of single mothers reluctantly bond while planning a school fundraiser. It's doubtful John Hughes would recognize the update.
