If you loved Gorath, try Invasion of Astro-Monster

A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.

What they share

Both films are directed by Ishirō Honda, and they both carry the 3am cult, neon soaked mood tags, and they sit in Action / Science Fiction territory. If that's the register that drew you to Gorath, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Invasion of Astro-Monster is

You rocket to Planet X alongside a buddy, meeting strange humanoids who need help with a rampaging space monster. In exchange for Godzilla and Rodan, they offer humanity a miracle cure but something feels off. Honda's direction elevates the monster fights. It's a fun, if strange, cold war allegory.
