If you loved City of Ember, try A Boy Called Christmas
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Gil Kenan, and they both carry the cozy mood tag, and they sit in Adventure / Family / Fantasy territory. If that's the register that drew you to City of Ember, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What A Boy Called Christmas is
It seems someone decided to give the origin of Santa Claus the full fantasy-adventure treatment. Young Nikolas goes in search of his woodcutter father, lost somewhere far north near the legendary Elfhelm. What follows is indeed magical, endearing, and further proof that nothing is impossible, at least in movies.
