If you loved American Heist, try Guardians
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Sarik Andreasyan, and they sit in Action territory. If that's the register that drew you to American Heist, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Guardians is
Fall of leaves, 1982. A manhole cover clangs shut in Alma-Ata. Pensioners in tracksuits awaken: Kazakh wrestler, Tajik fire-starter, Armenian stuntman all zippered into identical leather. Their employer prints propaganda posters in a basement—until radio crackles orders to step into the light. A Molotov-shaped emblem ignites the sky.
