Night Drum

Ghost in the Shogunate meets Rashomon in feudal Japan. A samurai returns to find his wife’s affair with a drumming tutor whispered about across the clan. Gossip boils over into a public hearing, unspooling conflicting testimonies and social rot beneath the idealized code of honor. The accused drummer refuses to fight, leaving the code itself on trial.
