If you loved Tora-san. It's Tough Being a Man, try Tora-san's Cherished Mother
Un puente entre una película que ya has visto y una que casi nadie ha cruzado. Esto es lo que comparten, y lo que la segunda hace que la primera no hace.
Lo que comparten
Both films are directed by Yoji Yamada, and they both carry the bittersweet, tender mood tags, and they sit in Comedy territory. If that's the register that drew you to Tora-san. It's Tough Being a Man, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Tora-san's Cherished Mother is
This one attempts to tug at the heartstrings a bit more than usual. Tora-san believes he has found his long-lost mother working as a geisha in Kyoto and tries to reconnect. It's a very sweet film, if perhaps a little corny.
