If you loved Otesánek (El pequeño Otik), try Fausto
Un puente entre una película que ya has visto y una que casi nadie ha cruzado. Esto es lo que comparten, y lo que la segunda hace que la primera no hace.
Lo que comparten
Both films are directed by Jan Švankmajer, and they sit in Animation / Fantasy territory. If that's the register that drew you to Otesánek (El pequeño Otik), the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Fausto is
Eraserhead without subtlety. A man finds a map that leads him to a bizarre theater, where he's conscripted into playing Faust. Švankmajer's signature grotesqueries overwhelm any deeper reading of the ur-text.
