If you loved Dear Doctor, try The Long Excuse
Un puente entre una película que ya has visto y una que casi nadie ha cruzado. Esto es lo que comparten, y lo que la segunda hace que la primera no hace.
Lo que comparten
Both films are directed by Miwa Nishikawa, and they both carry the bittersweet, tender mood tags, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Dear Doctor, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What The Long Excuse is
Tokyo Story without Ozu. An author feigns grief after his wife dies. He then volunteers to look after the children of another victim from the same fatal bus crash. The late Yoji Yamada regular Masahiro Motoki carries this gentle film.
