If you loved Kamui, try Doing Time
Was sie teilen
Both films are directed by Yōichi Sai, and they both carry the outsider, slow burn mood tags, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Kamui, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Doing Time is
Here's a movie that thinks prison is like summer camp. A man is sent to a minimum-security prison where the inmates have settled into a highly structured, if dull, routine. The film certainly gives you a lot of time to ponder its themes.
