If you loved The Recall, try The Ghostmaker
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. The Ghostmaker has roughly 4.2× fewer votes than The Recall — it's a deeper cut, not a mainstream recommendation. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Mauro Borrelli, and they both carry the dread, late night, neon soaked mood tags, and they sit in Horror / Science Fiction territory. If that's the register that drew you to The Recall, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What The Ghostmaker is
Woods near campus. Autumn wind. A discarded length of rope. Five students unearth an antique casket, a portal to out-of-body experience. Drifting free of their corporeal forms, they test the limits of their newfound powers. The box demands a terrible price. Borrelli repurposes a *Flatliners*-variant premise with gusto.
