## Synopsis (in-house rewrite)

Piedmont, New Mexico — wind whips dust across empty porches and cracked window sills. A military satellite returns bearing a silent plague; only a derelict town and two survivors remain. Scientists in white suits rush into a sterile fortress, dissecting the impossible organism, unaware it has already shifted shape, slithering past their safeguards toward the lab’s humming nuclear core.
A clinical thriller where certainty curdles into containment failure.

**Mood tags**: cerebral, dread, slow-burn
