If you loved Taps, try Vision Quest

A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.

What they share

Both films are directed by Harold Becker, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Taps, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Vision Quest is

Here's a film about a teen deciding to take himself very seriously. Louden declares he will face the state's fearsome wrestler, cutting weight to do so. A winsome young woman then arrives at his home, complicating his plans for self-betterment. It's quite the adolescent stew, really.
