If you loved Soapdish, try Gambit

A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.

What they share

Both films are directed by Michael Hoffman, and they sit in Comedy territory. If that's the register that drew you to Soapdish, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.

What Gambit is

Here's a film that perhaps only exists to give Colin Firth a chance to mug outrageously. He plays a London art curator scheming to sell a fake Monet to his awful boss. His plan requires the assistance of a rodeo queen from Texas. It's not clear anyone involved had a good time.
