If you loved Saraband, try Dreams
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Ingmar Bergman, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Saraband, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Dreams is
Bergman here considers the plight of two women, for reasons. A fashion shoot in Gothenburg throws a middle-aged magazine owner and her younger protégé into romantic turmoil with men they meet. It's a slight, if typically anguished, work.
