If you loved Rashomon, try Seven Samurai
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Akira Kurosawa, and they sit in Drama territory. If that's the register that drew you to Rashomon, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What Seven Samurai is
You hire a wandering samurai with no master and a stomach that knows famine. The villagers offer food for protection against bandits returning every harvest. He recruits six more warriors and teaches the farmers to fight. Then forty bandits charge in at dawn.
