If you loved Fighting Friends, try What Did the Lady Forget?
A bridge between a film you've already seen and one most people haven't. Here's what they share, and what the second one does that the first one doesn't.
What they share
Both films are directed by Yasujirō Ozu, and they sit in Comedy territory. If that's the register that drew you to Fighting Friends, the second film will land in a comparable space — through a different lens.
What What Did the Lady Forget? is
Ozu takes on the unruly flapper. A young woman visits her aunt and uncle in Tokyo and proceeds to upend their traditional household. It's a light comedy of manners that perhaps gently mocks changing social mores, but mostly just has a good time.
